TWENTY SEVENTH SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME (YEAR C) – 5th / 6th OCTOBER 2019

SCRIPTURE FOCUS.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus says that we could do incredible things if only we had faith.
What incredible things would you like to do? Perhaps you would choose to end the injustice of extreme poverty and hunger?
Family Fast Day is an opportunity to help each other hold onto the faith that God really can use us to do incredible things, like ensuring that everyone has access to clean water, nourishing food, education and safety.

SAFEGUARDING REPORT WELCOMED BUT CHURCH MUST STAY VIGILANT.
“We thank the NCSC for this 2018 Annual Report which gives a clear picture of the work done in safeguarding in the Catholic Church today….but at the same time the report is totally without any sense of complacency….the challenge of our response to the presence of sexual abuse within the Church continues to be urgent and of vital importance.”
“Too often safeguarding is perceived as reactive, sometimes something to be feared…but safeguarding is about keeping people safe from harm, but it is also about positively promoting and celebrating what is done well and the value of every human being.
